The advanced range management school will be offered in Delta on Thursday, Jan. 22.
By Robbie Baird LeValley CSU Cooperative Extension The course builds on the range science information offered in previous range management schools. Topics for the day include plant growth and environmental factors, grazing management tools and techniques, fencing and livestock distribution tools, poisonous plant update, rangeland monitoring, range nutrition and animal behavior. The course will be taught by Floyd Reed, John Murray, Dave Bradford, Chase Roeber, and Robbie LeValley, U.S. Forest Service (retired), Natural Resources Conservation Service (retired), U.S. Forest Service, rancher, and Colorado State University Extension, respectively. The course will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. The cost is $30 per person and includes lunch and a resource notebook. Two people from the same ranch can register for $50.
