When members of Cedaredge LDS ward realized the multitude of fantastic cooks within their congregation, they decided to publish a cookbook gathering all the prize-winning recipes under one cover. "Let Us Break Bread Together" is the result and is now available for purchase. Printed by G&R Publishing, the spiral-bound cookbook features 141 pages of favorite tried and true recipes submitted by the men, women and children of their congregation. From appetizers, soups and salads to breads, side dishes, main dishes and desserts, the cookbook has it all. There are chapters on Gifts from the Kitchen, Household Hints and Kitchen Crafts for Kids as well. In addition, a unique "In Readiness" section is devoted to homesteading specialties like homemade jams and jellies, convenient mixes and cleaning products. Jennifer Bowler, chairman of the cookbook project, says, "Many of the recipes have won blue ribbons in the Delta County Fair. We're excited to share all these wonderful recipes with the people living in our area." An added bonus is that the artwork was done by local artist, Sheila Versey. The cost is $10 and the book may be purchased by contacting Bowler at 856-7082.
