Mrs. Bird is survived by one son, two daughters and two brothers.

She was preceded in death by a sister and a son, Gary, who was killed on Sept. 11 in the Twin Towers.

A friendly gathering was held Dec. 29 at Heavens View Apartments. Cremation has taken place and her ashes have been scattered.
