A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. Entombment followed at the Last Supper Columbarium at Mesa View Cemetery in Delta. Geneva Lanette Cobb was born on Dec. 6, 1931, to the late Walter and Ernestine Cobb in Donalsonville, Ga. She married Delbert Frazier on July 30, 1949, in Columbus, Ga. They later moved to the Denver area and started a family. She was an active member of the Sabbath Keeping Christian Church. Geneva's desires were to stay home and raise her children but instead she went to school and studied business machines. She was employed with Montgomery Wards in the auditing department for 18 years. In 1972, she again wanted to stay at home and grow a garden. But soon went back to school for more business classes and secured a job at the Colorado Medical Center as a key punch operator. She and Delbert moved back to Georgia where they owned and operated a barbecue restaurant for some eight years. They moved to the Western Slope of Colorado in 1985 where she opened both the Country Kettle Restaurant in Eckert, and the Steak House Restaurant and Bar in Cedaredge. Upon full retirement, she finally settled down to enjoy the home life of cooking, gardening and spending time with her growing family. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert. She is survived by two sons, Michael L. Frazier (Carrie), and Randall D. Frazier (Vicki), all of Delta; two sisters, Jo Cannon (Ray) of Napa, Calif., and Carolyn Ballard (Bill) of Austin; two brothers, Nathan Cobb (Nancy) of Smith Station, Ala., and Norman Cobb (Rita) of Shelbyville, Ky.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Bascom Cobb (Jo) of Sparks, Nev., and a grandson, Sean Michael Frazier. The family would like to thank friends and neighbors that have devoted their support and encouragement during this time of sorrow. Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory handled arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O. Box 24, Delta, CO 81416, or Hospice Care Center, 3090 North 12th Street, Unit B, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
