Per her request, no services will be held. Ms. Parkinson was born March 22, 1915, in Denver, to Thomas and Reine (Chatfield) Parkinson. She spent her childhood in New Castle and Delta, and graduated from Delta High School in 1933. She attended the University of Colorado in Boulder where she received a bachelor of arts degree in teaching and later graduated from a university in Columbus, Ohio with a doctorate in pharmacy in the 1950s. She was a pharmacist for many years. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, reading and teaching. Ms. Parkinson is survived by two nieces, Leanna James and her husband Gary of Delta, and Tammy Lambert of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; two nephews, Gary Parkinson of Eldorado Springs, and Larry Parkinson of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Gladys Parkinson of Delta; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Parkinson and Hubert Parkinson. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O. Box 24, Delta, CO 81416.
