A memorial service was held Thursday, Feb. 9, at Colorow Care Center in Olathe. Inurnment followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Paonia. Mrs. Wheeler was born July 6, 1936, to Gustave and Fannie (Alderson) Roeber on the Roeber Ranch near Paonia. She graduated from Delta High School and Mesa College in Grand Junction with an art degree. She was a member of the Lutheran church and was an artist. She enjoyed camping and riding horseback in the mountains with her husband. She worked at Redstone Inn in Redstone, Jenny Lake Resort, Teton National Park in Jackson, Wyo., and Delta-Montrose Electric Association for several years. Mrs. Wheeler is survived by three nephews, Greg Roeber, Mark Roeber and Chad Roeber; a niece, Kathleen Stoner; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Roeber. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wheeler; a brother, Clinton Roeber; two sisters, Aline Hulteen and Charlotte Collins; and a niece, Denise Kossler.
