Orchard City has scheduled an hour-long, open house public meeting to discuss the single issue of a town roads maintenance program and its funding.
The session is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. at Orchard City Town Hall.
Trustees discussing the meeting format during their Oct. 4 work session decided that it would be a single-issue session devoted to roads. Other similar public sessions devoted to different aspects of the town's search for new revenue were also discussed as future possibilities.
In other issues discussed during the work session, trustees considered the following matters:
• The ambulance district wants an official letter of support from the town for the district's tax increase proposal.
• Trustees were given a document spelling out rules and procedures for public meetings. Trustees will discuss the document further at their November work session.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
