Dear Editor:

Thank you Surface Creek community. Once again, you have shown how giving and caring you are.

During the past year as the economy struggled and sputtered along, Surface Creek Community Services (Food Bank) also worked hard and struggled to keep up with more requests for help. It would be overwhelming if not for this community. You come through in so many ways. Cans of food, beef and processing, potatoes, corn, onions, fruit from your orchards, and so many fresh vegetables from your gardens, cash donations to purchase food, and your time and energy are among the many things you have given to support the residents in your community who are having tougher times. Our churches and service organizations answer our requests for help, and we are very grateful to you.

In addition, as we prepared for the largest holiday dinner distribution we have done to date, you came through yet again. With this big project, you stepped up and gave of your time, energy, and organizational skills and a wonderful place to pull it all together. You made it an inspiring project to be a part of because you willingly reached out and did a phenomenal job. On behalf of the Board of Surface Creek Community Services and our clients, we truly want to thank you for your continued support and donations.
