Ordinance details golf benefits

In drafting its proposed Ordinance 2015-10, town staff endeavored to keep individual elected officials' names out of the document.

However, issues are so intertwined that a generalized wording was found to be impossible. So it was found necessary to state in the ordinance how each individual current and past mayor or trustee's pay and golf benefit entitlement would be affected by the ordinance. Quotes are directly from the proposed ordinance.

• Mayor Pat Means: Currently signed up for 2015 golf benefit.

"Term expires April is term limited as mayor. Eligible for Ordinance 2015-10 board of trustee member compensation if elected to a new position. Eligible for lifetime golf benefits."

• Trustee Nancy Sturgill: Signed up for 2015 golf benefit.

"Term expires April 2016 is term limited as trustee. Eligible for lifetime golf benefits."

• Trustee Ray Hanson: Not signed up for 2015 golf benefit.

"Term expires April 2016 can run for re-election. Eligible for Ordinance 2015-10 board of trustee member compensation if elected into a new position. Eligible for lifetime golf benefits if re-elected and serves eight consecutive years."

• Trustee Dayton Myers: Not signed up for 2015 golf benefit.

"Term expires April 2016 can run for re-election. Eligible for Ordinance 2015-10 board of trustee member compensation if elected into a new position. Eligible for lifetime golf benefits if re-elected and serves eight consecutive years."

• Trustee Larry Smith: Not signed up for 2015 golf benefit.

"Term expires April 2018 is term limited. Eligible for Ordinance 2015-10 board of trustee member compensation if elected into a new position. Eligible for lifetime golf benefits."

• Trustee Patti Michael: Signed up for 2015 golf benefit.

"Term expires April 2018 can run for re-election. Eligible for Ordinance 2015 board of trustee member compensation if elected into a new position. Eligible for lifetime golf benefits if re-elected and serves eight consecutive years."

• Al Smith: Signed up for 2015 golf benefit.

"Term expires April 2018 can run for re-election. Eligible for Ordinance 2015-10 board of trustee member compensation if elected into a new position. Eligible for lifetime golf benefits if re-elected and serves eight consecutive years."

• Past trustee Gene Welch: "Term expired April 2014 can be elected or an appointment to an elected official term. Eligible for Ordinance 2015 board of trustee member compensation into a new position. Eligible for lifetime golf benefits."

• Past trustees. "All other past Board of Trustees eligible for Ordinance 2015-10 board of trustee member compensation into a new position and all have currently waived their lifetime golf benefit."
