Delta's Panthers had an easy time of their football contest in Cortez. Delta outscored the host Panthers 21-0 in each of the two quarters in the opening half. Tristan Brown scored two touchdowns on the ground while teammates Kole Roberts and Damon Jensen scored one each.

Jensen plowed through and around Cortez defenders for 140 yards on 15 carries in the game for a 9.3 average.

Roberts had 171 yards through the air on seven completions in 12 attempts. Beau Byers caught six passes for 110 yards and a touchdown. A.B. Ontiveros had the second touchdown through the air on two catches for 44 yards.

Cortez scored against the Delta reserves.

Ontiveros booted all six extra points for Delta.

The game of the season for Delta is scheduled for this week against the visiting Bayfield Wolverines. Both Delta and Bayfield are 3-0 in league play and 5-2 overall. The Wolverines, last year's 2A State Champions, will try to keep their repeat hopes alive this Friday at Panthers Stadium when the whistle blows for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
