Delta played once last week and that contest was against Rifle's Bears in Rifle. Delta improved to 4-0 in league play and 12-4 overall after shutting out the Bears, 19-0.
The Panthers wasted little time after jumping to a 1-0 lead after one inning of play. Delta's bats exploded in the second frame for 11 runs that left little doubt as to the game's outcome.
Another seven runs in the third inning, and a stingy defense, combined to end the game after four innings of play.
Delta outhit the Bears 13-2 on its way to the 4A WSL win. Rifle dropped to 0-4 and 3-10.
Lily Lockhart hit her 11th home run in the game and finished with three RBIs. She also picked up a double to go with her home run.
Keilee Womack had two hits, including a home run, her sixth, and knocked in two runs.
Nadia Hall plated two RBIs with her one hit and Megan Sandoval also had a double and a two-RBI day for the Panthers.
Womack picked up her sixth win of the season against two losses.
The Panthers played Cedaredge on Monday, Sept. 28, and will take on 4A WSL Palisade, 3-1 and 8-5-1, on Friday in Delta at 4 p.m. The Bulldogs are in second place.
