I want to thank the churches who came together to present the service in the park as part of Deltarado Days last week, and all who attended. It was a wonderful service, and it was nice to see so many in the community gather and worship together. The church service has become one of the best parts of the event!
I also want to thank all who stayed after the service for the barbecue lunch, which was a fundraiser for the Abraham Connection homeless shelter. The funds raised from this lunch will help sustain our operations when we re-open Nov. 1. It costs $15.87 to provide a night of shelter for one guest; the funds raised from the barbecue will provide over 30 nights of shelter this fall to those most in need. Thank you all for your support!
Lastly, it takes an army to pull off any fundraiser, and the Abraham Connection is blessed to have some of the most dedicated volunteers around. We appreciate all those who helped make this fundraiser a success by preparing food, serving and helping clean up. We are lucky to count all of you as supporters of this mission!
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
