Paul Coe died Aug. 23, 2017, at Horizons Care Center in Eckert. He was 86.
He was born on Aug. 9, 1931, in Stockton, N.Y., to Elwood and Lois (Woodruff) Coe.
He served in the U.S. Army, then continued his education in Loma Linda, Calif. He practiced dentistry in Delta for 44 years.
He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Chuch. He enjoyed reading, camping and hunting arrowheads, and had traveled to 49 states, lacking just Alaska.
After the death of his first wife of 48 years, he married Bonnie Clark on Sept. 10, 2010, in Delta.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Coe of Delta; sons, David Coe, Sanford (Marivic) Coe of San Antonio, Texas, and Allan (Michelle) Coe of Cañon City; daughters, Katee (John) McCollum of Montrose and Laura Clark of Delta; stepchildren, Robert (Patricia) Wheeling of Thornton, Donald (Tracy) Denham of Colorado Springs; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 48 years, Nancy Coe; and a brother, Herbert.
Private services have taken place under the direction of Sunset Mesa Funeral Directors.
The seventh annual Eckert Crane Days, the annual viewing of the sandhill cranes migrating north from New Mexico through Colorado's West Slope, will be March 16-18. Representatives from the Black Canyon Chapter of the Audubon Society (BCAS) will be at the viewing site east of Eckert at Fruitgrowers Reservoir, 9 to 11 a.m. each day, to answer questions and provide binoculars and spotting scopes.
