The Delta County Memorial Hospital Foundation invites everyone to participate in the fifth annual Pea Green Pedal on Saturday, Sept. 10, beginning at the Lions Club Pavilion in Confluence Park. Options include an 18- or 40-mile bike ride or a 5k fun run/walk around the lake. Registration is $35 for the 5k or the bike ride prior to Sept. 2. Lunch and a T-shirt are included with early registration. Costs go up after Sept. 3 to $40 for the 5k and the bike ride.
The 40-mile bike riders start at 8 a.m., 18-mile bike riders begin at 9:30 a.m. and the 5k fun run/walkers start at 10:30 a.m. at Lions Pavilion.
All funds raised from the Pea Green Pedal are dedicated to Delta County Memorial Hospital programs, services and equipment and educational scholarships.

On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
