Pearl Basher

Pearl Florence Basher died March 2, 2016, at Mesa Manor in Grand Junction. She was 91.

She was born in Lancaster, N.Y., March 22, 1924.

During World War II she worked at Stanley Aviation. After moving to Denver in 1954, she and her husband, Jus, opened P&J Machine Shop.

She moved to Cedaredge in 1982.

Mrs. Basher played on a women's baseball league in her younger years. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, skiing, golfing and sewing. She was on Cedaredge Town Council, supported the Council Tree Pow Wow and was a member of Garden Club and Bill Heddles Needlers.

She is survived by five children, Robert (Audrey) Basher, Karen Basher, all of Delta, Gary (Nancy) Basher of Broomfield, Janice (Brad) Hueske of Weldona, and Diane (Scott) Manuppella of Grand Junction/Paonia; eight grandchildren, Wendy Wyatt, Michelle Angelo, Christy Schaefer, Juliana Ruffalo, Danielle Lewis, Megan Musgrave, Justin Manuppella and Kyle Manuppella; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence Justin Basher.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Presbyterian Church of Delta, 4th and Meeker.
