Pete Sisson

William "Pete" Albert Sisson died Jan. 8, 2016, in Albuquerque, N.M. He was 66.

He was born in Siloam Springs, Ark., Oct. 4, 1949, to Georgia (McGee) and Rufus Sisson, the youngest of 13 children.

Mr. Sisson was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served three tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star while serving with the 65th Engineers.

Following his service, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad.

He enjoyed horses, leatherworking, collecting antique military memorabilia and helping others, and believed in a hard day of work.

Mr. Sisson is survived by his second wife, Jan (Sutton) of Roswell, N.M.; two daughters, Jolene Sisson of Hotchkiss and her children Jamal and MyKayla Helm, and Kathalene (Kenneth) Megofna of Ridgecrest, Calif.; two sisters, La-Crisha Roberts of Delta and Nancy Cockroft of Hotchkiss; one brother, John Sisson of Paonia; and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia (Watts) Sisson.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
