Delta resident Peter "Pete" Tullio died Feb. 9, 2018, at Colorow Care Center. He was 94.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, and funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 16, with Father Albeiro Herrera-Ciro and Father Nathaneal Foshage officiating. Both services will be at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Delta. Interment with military honors by Lee Marts VFW Post #3571 will follow at Mesa View Cemetery.
Peter Tullio was born on April 30, 1923, to Francisco and Frances (Boss) Tullio in Somerset. He spent his childhood in Somerset and attended school in Delta.
He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged Feb. 4, 1946. On April 5, 1946, he married Shirley Jardon in Reno, Nev.
Mr. Tullio was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and Wilson-Head American Legion Post #97.
He enjoyed woodworking, music, fly fishing, camping, hunting and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Shirley Tullio of Delta; sons, Gary (Joyce) Tullio of Fruita and Richard (Jeanna) Tullio of Olathe; daughter, Aloha Tullio of Delta; brother, Henry (Barbara) Tullio of Somerset; sister, Louise Moran of Forest Grove, Ore.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Tullio was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, John and Jerry; two sisters, Rosie and Elizabeth; and a grandson, Charles Tullio.
