Alpine Bank's traveling pickleball series ended with an OctoberFest event in Delta. Players from Carbondale to Durango vied for titles in both men's and women's doubles on Saturday, Oct. 1, followed by epic finals in mixed doubles on Sunday.
Local players made their presence felt with Judy Fairchild, Betty Garrett and Rich Garrett all double medaling.
Fairfield teamed with John McCoy to beat the Garrett team 17-15 in the final of Mixed 3.5. It was the highlight match of the weekend.

On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
