The winners of the annual City of Delta/Lee Martinson Cribbage Tournament, the largest on the Western Slope, have been announced by Bill Heddles Recreation Center.
Fifty-eight players competed in the tournament Sunday, Feb. 12. All participants played singles and had the option of playing doubles as well. Players came from Delta, Olathe, Cedaredge, Eckert, Crawford, Austin, Fruita, Montrose, Paonia, Hotchkiss, Clifton and Grand Junction. The first place winner received a wooden cribbage board make by Jack Behrman. Certificates were also awarded, with minor prizes given to winners up to 12th place. Lee Martinson donated the prizes for the big winners.
Singles -- Karen Jarnagin, Grand Junction, first; Darlene Johnson, Austin, second; Anthony Hober, Grand Junction, third; Jo Kissinger, Fruita, fourth; Judy Spoerl, Grand Junction, fifth; Susan Pagano, Paonia, sixth.
Doubles -- Jo Kissinger and Sue Thorndill, first; Dan Vogel and Anthony Hober, second; Charles Euler and Karen Jarnagin, third; Johnnie Hicks and Delna Norton, fourth; Dave Lillard and Dick Lillard, fifth; Susan Miller and Conny Lepper, sixth.
