Cedaredge and Delta High School's golf teams competed in last week's Wildcat Invitational. The competition took place at The Golf Club at Redlands Mesa. Delta finished ninth and Cedaredge placed 11th.
Grand Junction High School won the team title with a score of 226, with Steamboat Springs placing second with 238 strokes. Delta used 269 swings and the Bruins 298 to finish in their respective spots.
Individually, Grand Junction's Trevor Olkow-ski topped the leaderboard with his 67. Delta's Blake Reiher tied for 12th with three other players who had rounds of 82.
Individual scores for Cedaredge players were Jacob Lewis 86, Peter Carlson 103, Matt Smel-ser 109 and Nate Stumpf 128.
Delta's individual scores included Reiher, 82, Logan Wood, 87, Mason Garcia, 100, Christian Hall, 100 and K.C. Carlson, 104.
Delta coach, and Devil's Thumb pro, Ken Brown admitted play at Redlands Mesa was, "a bit rough for the boys, but they played well enough."
The Bruins and Panthers are scheduled to play Devil's Thumb today, Aug. 26, and are at Cobble Creek Aug. 27.
