The Town of Cedaredge is soliciting bids for work regrading the Civic Center parking lot, according to a recent report.
Drainage from the lot has been a headache for some property owners whose buildings are on the lot's downhill south side. Mayor Pat Means asked whether the grading work would help solve those problems, and she was told that drainage would be channeled farther west away from the bordering properties.
"We are in the process of getting bids to regrade the Civic Center parking lot and fix the drainage problem. This will be a big help to us and the Masonic Hall," states the public works department's report issued earlier this month.
Public works has also decided to make moves with its equipment fleet.A 2000 backhoe tractor was repaired, and a 1995 tractor will be sold on eBay, with anticipated proceeds covering the cost of repairs to the other tractor.
Also, the town has gotten a bid of $33,400 for a new Kubota tractor. The town administrator was given the go-ahead to negotiate lease/purchase deals on the tractor and on a new Ford Explorer police cruiser priced at $30,570.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
