Robert Earl Bryant died Aug. 31, 2015. He was 80.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, Sept. 8 at Brown's Chapel in Grand Junction. Graveside services will be held Thursday, Sept. 10, at Penokee Cemetery in Penokee, Kan.
Mr. Bryant was born at home to Charles and Esther Bryant on Feb. 21, 1935, in Phillips County, Kan. He was raised on the family farm just north of Penokee.10During a trip to Colorado to work in the orchards, he met Carol Costello at a 4-H party in the Grand Junction area. After their marriage they returned to Kansas, where they raised their family. Mr. Bryant farmed and worked in construction.
The next chapter led the family to Cedaredge, where all the children attended school.
Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by all but one of his siblings.
He is survived by one sister; his former wife; three sons, Chuck, Joe and Adam; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Brown's Cremation and Funeral Service is handling the arrangements."
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
