Robert Hanson

Robert Wayne Hanson of Delta died of a pulmonary embolism Jan. 17, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital, following a recent hip replacement surgery. He was 79.

He was born in Raton, N.M., Feb. 12, 1936, to Glenn and Hazel (Howe) Hanson.

Mr. Hanson received a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona and was a school psychologist in the Jefferson County Public Schools. He retired in 2000 and moved to Delta.

He attended the Center for Spiritual Living in Delta. He was a member of several antique car clubs, Trout Unlimited and the Colorado Education Association.

Mr. Hanson is survived by his wife of 25 years, Donna Miller; a stepson, Adam Buck; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Gamble; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 12, at Center for Spiritual Living, 658 Howard Street, Delta.
