Rosa Lee Coonts died July 7, 2016, at home with her husband at her side. She was 78.
Rosa Lee was born on April 25, 1937, and raised in Donna, Texas. She graduated from Donna High School in 1955. She met her future husband, Harvey Lee Coonts, at the Dixie Maid where she was a car hop. They were married in her senior year of high school.
As their children were born, Rosa Lee devoted her energies to being the best mom possible.
Rosa Lee and Harvey Lee lived in Texas, Utah, California and Colorado. To all who entered their home, Rosa Lee's kitchen was never closed. She enjoyed making big family style dinners.
In later years she partnered with her husband in an engineering company and small oil company.
Rosa Lee and Harvey Lee retired to Eckert in 2001. She enjoyed gardening, water aerobics, painting pottery, getting manicures and having her hair done.
She led a Bible study group for many years.She enjoyed singing songs while her husband accompanied her on his organ.
Rosa Lee bravely fought and won out over cancer and diabetes.
She is survived by her husband Harvey Lee; children Elaine, Janice, Ernest and Amanda; grandchildren Tyler, Brandon, Hannah, Lauren and Emily.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Diana Joy.
A service will be held at Taylor Funeral Home, 682 1725 Road in Delta on Saturday, July 16, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Cedaredge Cemetery.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
