Russell "Rusty" Tullio died Jan. 21, 2016, in Tulsa, Okla. He was 68.
He was born in Delta Oct. 9, 1947, to Mike and Cecelia Tullio. He graduated from Paonia High School.
He enjoyed watching the Eagles wrestle and play football. He provided shirts for the teams and enjoyed their wins even when he was far away.
Mr. Tullio served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. He worked in the Somerset mine and at American Airlines.
He is survived by his children, Jordan Tullio (John Cockran) and Shannon Tullio; five grandchildren; a brother, Bruce Tullio; a sister, Shirley Morgan; an aunt, Marcy Boss; and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Michael; a son, Colby Tullio; and his wife, Vickie.
A memorial was held in Tulsa, Okla., Jan. 25.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
