Ruth Emmons of Paonia died Sept. 8, 2015, at Horizons Care Center in Eckert. She was 93.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Paonia.
Ruth Marie Sharp was born in Somerset March 12, 1922, to Ethel "E.K." and Nettie Bell (Kelsey) Sharp.
She married Maurice "Mo" Emmons on Jan. 26, 1938, in Delta.
Mrs. Emmons worked at J.C. Penney and the First National Bank, both in Paonia.
She enjoyed watching her sons and grandchildren playing sports, homemaking, cooking and quilting. She gave away over 100 quilts.
Mrs. Emmons is survived by her sons, Gary (Patty) Emmons of Greeley and Donnie (Cindy) Emmons of Paonia; five grandchildren, Brenda (James) Sharp of Woodstock, Ga., Aaron (Jenny) Emmons of Glenwood Springs, Dana (James) Speakman of Parachute, Valerie (Leonard) Krise of Briggsdale and Margo (Ross) Choate of Cheyenne, Wyo.; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice "Mo" Emmons; five brothers; and a sister.

Delta Volunteer Fire Department (DVFD) will be holding its annual fireworks show at Confluence Park on Wednesday, July 4, having received approval from Delta City Council at the council's June 5 meeting.
The DVFD has 28 volunteers and expects to have eight to 10 firefighters from Cedaredge join them this year.
