Sepsis is a real danger

By Joyce and Debra Anderson

Dear Editor:

We were very happy to see that DCMH is honoring September as Sepsis Awareness Month. Since losing our mother, Ruth to sepsis last November, we have encountered a number of other people impacted by this condition.

We, like many others, knew very little about sepsis, but have been spreading the word about its dangers.

Unfortunately, our mother did not exhibit any of the listed symptoms; she just didn't feel right.

Now we warn people if they don't feel normal but don't know what is wrong, ask to be tested for sepsis.

Sepsis is a killer!
