A Little Help of Delta County will sponsor its second "Service Saturday" on Oct. 27. The immediate goal of the Saturday morning event is to help local senior citizens with home and yard tasks. But the event is also designed to recruit volunteers to establish ongoing services for seniors.

The nonprofit organization is already well-established in Denver, in Chaffee County, and in Paonia. The Oct. 27 event will help the organization expand its service into the Surface Creek and Delta areas.

Volunteers are asked to gather at 9 a.m. at Cedaredge Town Park on W. Main Street. Volunteers will then disperse to work at seniors' homes until noon when they will gather for a luncheon at the Cedaredge Community United Methodist Church, 210 NW 3rd Street.

Individuals or organizations interested in participating in the Oct. 27 event can call 970-527-3482 for more information.
