Construction on the Town of Hotchkiss main sewer line rehabilitation project was slightly delayed, but is expected to begin today, according to Public Works manager Mike Owens.
Most of the line is located within the town's alleyways, although some work will affect the streets where they intersect with alleyways. Williams Construction, the contractor for the project, will begin excavation and line replacement in the alley between Pinon and Cedar streets, and Highway 92 and Hotchkiss Avenue.
The project involves replacement and construction of man holes and construction of 6,000 feet of existing sewer line. Work is expected to progress at the rate of about 50 feet per day and continue through fall. While full street closures are unlikely, some one-lane situations may occur and residents are asked to be aware of construction zones and signage as the project zig-zags its way through town.
A street map of the project is available at townofhotch
