Trevor Smith wants his wrestling medal back. Smith, a senior at Paonia High School, won the Class 2A heavyweight wrestling title in February. In addition to the medal he won, Smith and all of the state champions were also presented a special engraved flipping disc, one side green, the other red, used by referees during the championship matches.

At the request of coaches, Smith brought his medals to school the week of Feb. 20 and placed them in the wrestling room for the peewee and middle school wrestlers to see. Sometime during the week the medals went missing.

A reward is being offered for the return of the medal and the disc, with no questions asked. The items can be returned to Paonia High School office, or simply returned from where they were taken. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the items is asked to call the school at 527-4882.
