Pioneer Town volunteers and members of Surface Creek Valley Historical Society began a season of community activities and events on a nice weather Sunday hosting the annual soup supper.

Event coordinator Olie Mowers said that it was more than members and volunteers who helped in donating over 15 soups and baked good treats that accompanied them; friends of Pioneer Town and the Society contributed also.

Entertainment was provided by Charley Shaw, a.k.a. Charley Twodogs of Whitewater. He performed rope tricks, provided music and shared experiences learned from his cowboy dad and from his own life on the ranch and the range.

The Pioneer Town Museum and events complex is a focus of community events and activity throughout the warm weather season. The official opening of Pioneer Town is celebrated in May with Heritage Days events.
