The regularly scheduled meeting of Delta Emblem Club #462 was held Monday, Aug. 28, at the Delta Elks Lodge.

Members of the club prepared and served a potluck dinner in honor of the visitation of Colorado State Association president Lynn Tingley from Durango Emblem Club #131.

The meeting was opened according to ritual, led by Delta Emblem Club president Diane Martinez. Roll call of officers showed first guard Garrett Abeyta absent. There were five past presidents in attendance.

Recording secretary Mary Jo Chaffee read the minutes of the last meeting. They were accepted as read. Financial secretary Mary Jo Chaffee and treasurer Barbara Pierce gave their reports. They will be filed pending audits. Committee reports were deferred to the next meeting.

There was no old business, so the meeting was moved on to new business. State president Lynn Tingley was introduced to the assembly. Others guests were -- from Durango, Edna Silva; from Montrose, Blondie Campbell and Georgia McNeill; from Hotchkiss, Donna Cochran, Karen Martin and Gladys Carpenter.

State president Lynn spoke to the assembly, outlining her state project for the year, which will be hospice. She also announced the next state meeting will be Sept. 23 in Delta.

Club president Diane presented a gift to state president Lynn. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
