According to TDS public relations manager Deanne Boegli, on Friday a widespread outage affected TDS Telecom email customers throughout the U.S., including Delta County and western Colorado. Outages affected local services for about six hours.
On Friday, May 12, said Boegli, TDS network services and engineering teams were working to restore services, and customers could get updates through a blog at blog.tdstelecom.com. As of Friday afternoon, "The situation is beginning to improve, community by community," said Boegli.
Cindy Tomlinson with TDS provided an update on Tuesday, May 16. The issue was officially resolved at 5:30 p.m. "We have identified two technical issues which created the widespread outage. Our technicians worked throughout the day to identify and then restore service," wrote Tomlinson in an email. "On behalf of all the employees at TDS, we'd like to thank our customers for their patience."
