Lifetime Somerset resident Thelma Bailey died Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Colorow Care Center in Olathe. She was 88.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Thelma J. Taylor was born in Carbondale Feb. 11, 1928, to Chauncey and Vera (Green) Taylor. She spent her childhood in Somerset and attended school in Somerset and Paonia.
She married Eugene Bailey on March 1, 1946, in Grand Junction. She raised their children alone after he died in a mining accident.
Mrs. Bailey enjoyed cooking, crocheting, fishing, camping, watching wildlife and playing cribbage.
She is survived by her son, Archie (Mary) Bailey of Orangeville, Utah; her daughters, Thresa (Kerry) Pope of Grand Junction, La-
Vera (Don) DeGraffenried of Crawford and Tamra (Bill) Sterns of Somerset; two brothers, Chauncey (Sharon) Taylor and Forrester (Airwana) Taylor; a sister, Gayle Tribolet; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren with one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother; and two sisters.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
