Thelma Lavonne Coverly died Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, at a Delta care facility. She was 92.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 22, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. Rev. Jerry Hilterbrand officiated. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery in Grand Haven, Mich.

Mrs. Coverly was born in Fremont, Mich., June 13, 1923, to Noble and Bertha Moon.
She married Bernard Coverly June 18, 1948, in Fremont, Mich. They moved to the Delta area in 1989 after retirement.
Mrs. Coverly was a member of Garnet Mesa Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for many years at Lakeshore Baptist Church in Grand Haven, Mich.
She enjoyed her family and family reunions, her church family, sewing, playing the piano and singing.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bernard; a son, Stephen (Cheryl) Coverly of Grand Junction; a daughter, Sharon (Ron) Hughes of Los Angeles, Calif.; her grandchildren, Major Robinson (Jennifer) Hughes, USAF, of Virginia, Bethany Coverly of Grand Junction and Heather (Lucas) Carrington of Indiana; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Robinson Hughes; siblings, Leora Williamson, Elna Nieboer and Erwin Moon, all of Michigan; and extended family.
Mrs. Coverly was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Coverly; her sisters, Ellen, Arlene and Orpha; and her brothers, Marvin and Nathan.
Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory handled the arrangements.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
