Thomas Franklin McCormick, age 67, of Paonia passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017. He was born in Fargo, N.D., on Sept. 10, 1949. His final days were spent with his only surviving son, Bryan McCormick, in Las Vegas, Nev.
Thomas was a father of three and is survived by his siblings, Kathy Grosser, John McCormick, Steve McCormick, Sheila Pollard, Colleen O'Connor, Mike McCormick and Patrick McCormick. Tom's passions in life were his children, concrete, classic cars, camping, arrowhead hunting, the outdoors and being a great friend to all. He provided for his family as a small business owner of McCormick Concrete Service for over 20 years in Delta County. He will be remembered for his big heart, hard work and beaming smile. He will be missed as a loving father, caring brother, and a great friend.
There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony at the Paonia American Legion on Saturday, April 8, at 10 a.m. Friends and family are invited to attend.
At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
