This year's 2017 Devil's Thumb Ladies Club champion is Tracy Brown. Brown's two-day total of 188 proved to be the tournament's top gross score, with a round of 95 coming on the first day and a 93 coming on the final day (Sunday, Aug. 13).
Jinx Richards was the top net winner in First Flight play with scores of 68 and 72 for a two-day total of 140.
Vicki Ripp finished with a 193 to claim second place honors in gross play and Cindy Lonis' 151 was the First Flight's second-place net score.
Competition remained keen in Second Flight action with Linda Phillips' 210 (103 and 107) earning top gross honors. Archie Wethington shot a 153 (76 and 77) to win top net honors.
A 236 (117 and 119) placed Betty Jo Gillum second in gross compeition in the Second Flight and Becky Brown earned second place in net play with her 239 (118 and 121).
Debbie Kahanek carded a 252 (128 and 124) to finish third in gross play in the Second Flight.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
