The team of Kindra Spiker, Jim Farmer and Jock Kallsen placed first in the Desert's Edge Triathlon near Fruita.
The Olympic distance triathlon was held at Highline Lake Sunday, Sept. 13. Kindra Spiker set the pace on the first leg of the triathlon, as she completed two laps around the lake, covering 1,500 meters in 32 minutes and 41 seconds.
As she crossed the finish line, Jock Kallsen mounted his bike and set off on a scenic out and back ride covering 24.9 miles. He placed first overall in biking with a time of 1:08:37.
Jim Farmer ran the 10k course in a time of 43:18, the top speed for that event. The 10k runners made two laps of a course that followed gently rolling trails around Highline Lake.
The mixed relay team, aptly calling itself 2 Fast 4U, finished the event with a total time of 2:25:28.
