Truth in politics

During the past six months I've written several letters to this editorial page regarding issues I've had with the Town of Crawford and its mayor. None of those letters sought to disparage, assassinate anyone's character, or destroy their careers. I simply pointed out contradictions of fact and statements.
Former Crawford town clerk Jackie Savage's attack on my character is but another example of contradiction of facts. One fact that she failed to include in her heartwrenching diatribe against me, was that she never felt threatened enough to bring it to the attention of the Crawford Town Council, nor did she ever file a complaint with the Delta County Sheriff.
She also failed to mention that even though she was present at my hearing for allegedly being a threat to the town of Crawford, she was never asked to give a statement, or called as a credible witness by the Town of Crawford.
Mayor Gofforth has also stated and publically had printed similar contradictions of fact, regarding the Colorado Sunshine Law. These contradictions in her interpretation of Colorado Sunshine Law were detailed in this column as an editor's note. She still maintains she has done nothing wrong.
Regardless of having been labeled a "sore loser, bully, and the individual responsible for thousands of taxpayers' dollars in legal fees" I will continue to travel the high road and let our state statutes and our local court decide the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
