Montrose hosted an Xcel qualifying meet which was Tunget Gymnastics' first. Twenty-five gymnasts qualified for the state meet.
Qualifiers at the Bronze Level included Jacee Christie (seventh vault), Jazimin Raley (sixth beam), Leah Vader (seventh beam), Rory Lee (fifth floor) and Makenzie Lee (seventh bars).
Gymnasts qualifying at the Silver Level included Reyna Broadbent (second vault, third bars, sixth beam, and fifth all around), Shadron Griffith (second bars, fourth beam and fifth all around), Lily Sinkay (seventh vault and fifth bars), Ashley Duke (fifth vault, seventh bars, beam and all around), Libby Brooks (eighth vault, beam and all around), Sadee Griffith (sixth vault and fifth floor), Isabella Vasques (sixth vault, fifth bars, second beam and floor, third all around), Rhiannon Dille (fifth vault, sixth beam and all around), Ayralin Hoffbauer (seventh beam and floor), Kaleigh Zvala (eighth beam), Shaylyn Griffith (third beam, fourth floor and all around), Alexeea Wilson (seventh vault, second bars, third floor and all around) and Baili Hulet (eighth vault, bars, beam, floor and all around).
The highest placing gymnast for Tunget Gymnastics was Silver Level's Ashlyn Webster. She was first in bars, beam and all around, second on floor and fourth on vault.
Qualifying at the Gold Level were Emma Jenkins (sixth bars), Kacy Walck (seventh floor), Olivia Lindsay (fifth bars, sixth beam, fifth floor and sixth all around), Idamae Morris (fifth vault and seventh on beam and all around), Natalie Mills (seventh vault and third on bars) and Adair Ela.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
