Vernon H. Neuberger died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, at his home in Delta. He was 77.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta with Pastor Paul Rosin officiating. Inurnment followed at Mesa View Cemetery with military honors by Lee Marts VFW Post #3571.
Mr. Neuberger was born in Ethan, S.D., April 20, 1938, to Philip and Ella (Klumb) Neuberger. He spent his childhood in Delta and graduated from Delta High School in 1956.
He was an Air Force veteran.
On March 3, 1961, he married Saundra Carreiro in Grand Junction. They attended All Saints Lutheran Church in Cory.
Mr. Neuberger was an electrician and owned Colorado West Electric with his brother for many years. He was also an electrical inspector for the State of Colorado and was head of maintenance at Delta Correctional Center.
He enjoyed fishing, vacationing in Mexico, playing cards and cribbage, collecting and restoring guns and knives, gardening and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Neuberger is survived by his wife, Saundra Neuberger; two daughters, Lisa (Kathy) Neuberger of Loveland and Ronda (Chris) McDonald of Grand Junction; a brother, Philip "Bud" Neuberger of Grand Junction; two sisters, Arlene Puls and Elaine Heinz, both of Delta; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Neuberger; a grandson, Tyler McDonald; and two sisters, Florence Delzer and Vi Gladfelder.

Leaf Glimpse, 27, of Delta was reportedly caught in the act of a break-in at a home on 2050 Road, Delta, at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 3.
The break-in was discovered by a contractor who was hired to make repairs while the property owners were out of town.
