Delta resident Virginia Liston died Monday, March 7, 2016, at Willow Tree Care Center. She was 85.
At her request, no services will be held.
Virginia M. Dye was born in Merna, Neb., May 26, 1930, to Carl and Beulah (Sargeant) Dye. She spent her childhood in northern Wyoming.
She married Charles Liston.
Because she did not complete her high school education in the late 1940s, she returned to school in the early 1960s. She graduated from Meeteetse High School while her children were in school.
In 1964, the family moved to Laramie, Wyo., where she was an active member of Business and Professional Women. She and Charles moved to Cedaredge in 1993. She participated in the Cedaredge Clowns and Apple Valley Players where she used her costuming talents. She moved to Delta in 2006.
She enjoyed drawing, painting, crafts, sewing, knitting and gardening.
Mrs. Liston is survived by three children, Evonne (Howard) Eiseman of Arvada, Charles Liston of Cedaredge and Mark (Robin) Liston of Delta; a brother, Jerry (Barbara) Dye of Los Lunas, N.M.; two sisters, Barbara Watson of Grants Pass, Ore., and Carol May (Joe) Clarke of Gillette, Wyo.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Liston; a brother, John Dye; and a great-granddaughter, Skylar Liston.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
