Vision Charter Academy (VCA) will hold learner showcases and senior presentation nights. The Delta and Surface Creek campus showcase will be Thursday, March 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bill Heddles Recreation Center in Delta. The North Fork campus showcase will be Thursday, April 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the North Fork campus at 218 4th Street in Paonia. Families, friends and interested community members are invited to attend to learn more about the exciting work VCA learners have created this school year.

VCA learners of all ages will have tabletop displays, videos and demonstrations to showcase their passions, interests and learning. Each year VCA learners get creative about how to showcase a specific area of interest such as art displays, video production, sewing projects, writing samples, science experiments, history websites, athletic accomplishments, or how to highlight a sampling of all of their work this year. Individual learners and VCA's K-12 grade classroom learners will display and be available to talk about their work. Beginning at 6 p.m. VCA graduating seniors will give brief presentations. At VCA, learners work with a graduation committee and requirements to graduate include not only demonstrating academic proficiency but also presenting their planned next steps, upon graduation, at the showcase and senior presentation night.

"This is such a great opportunity to see what VCA is all about," said executive director Teri Kinkade. "You can really best understand what is possible as a learner at VCA by seeing the kind of work our learners accomplish. It is also a great time to talk with them about their pursuits, passions and goals. This is my favorite event. It is a time to celebrate the amazing work of our learners and families who support them. We invite interested community members to attend to learn more about VCA."

Vision Charter Academy is a public charter school in Delta County offering education to K-12 grades. Enrollment applications are being accepted for fall 2016. For more information about VCA, go to visioncharteracademy.org.
