Volunteers of America advisory councils serve to make recommendations and/or provide key information and feedback to the executive directors and regional operations director. VOA is currently seeking additional members for the Delta County Advisory Board.
The advisory council is a collection of individuals which brings together its unique knowledge and skills which complement the knowledge and skills of the executive staff in order to more effectively govern the organization. The executive staff will be seeking input, opinion and assistance from council members on topics ranging from strategic planning, program/service offerings, regulatory issues, human resources and customer service.
The council meets quarterly at various Volunteers of America properties or other locations in the Delta County area from noon to 1:30 p.m. Members are notified of meeting dates and details via email four weeks in advance. Lunch is provided by Volunteers of America.
The national, nonprofit organization is dedicated to serving the frail, elderly and older adult population with a network of connected services including: assisted living, long-term care, short-term rehabilitation, memory support, home health care, Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), community meal sites, homebound meal deliveries and independent senior housing.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
