Voters approve question

By Hank Lohmeyer

Even though the Town of Orchard City at present has no plans nor expressed interest for entering the telecommunications business, the town's voters have given their government permission to do so virtually without restriction so long as any such venture in the future is done "without charge to members of the public."

The vote tally was 630, or 84.45 percent, in favor and 116, or 15.55 percent, against out of 746 votes cast on the issue, according to unofficial results tallied by the Delta County Clerk's Office.

The town voters' approval of the measure follows closely on similar approvals by county voters and by electorates in the county's other five municipalities.
