Wallace Wright

Wallace William Wright of Pea Green died Jan. 20, 2016, at his home. He was 86.

He was born in Stephenville, Texas, May 6, 1929, to Henry and Izora (Herrington) Wright. He grew up in Pea Green and Delta and attended school in Olathe and Delta.

He married Earline Dillon May 28, 1949, in Delta.

Mr. Wright served in the U.S. Navy for two and a half years. After he was honorably discharged, he served in the U.S. Air Force for one and a half years.

He returned to Pea Green and worked for many years as a farmer and rancher. He later owned and operated a custom farm and leveling business until he retired.

Mr. Wright enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Earline of Pea Green; his daughter, Vicki (Jerry) Martin of Pea Green; two grandchildren, Kelli (Devin) Watts of Pea Green and Justin (Tricia) Martin of Brighton; seven great-grandchildren, Jessica Martin, Heather (Kelly) Cannell, Hailey Martin, Kiffani Martin, Levi Martin, Braeden Martin and Kearah Martin; two great-great-grandchildren, Jayden Martin and Ryan Hemphill; a sister, Doyle Fergusen of Montrose; a sister-in-law, Helen Wright of Denver; and extended family.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Guy Wright, C.B. Wright and Clyde Wright; and a sister, Hazel Wolverton.

At Mr. Wright's request, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place.

Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory in Montrose handled the arrangements.
