Lifetime North Fork area resident Wanda Collins died Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Paonia Care Center in Paonia. She was 84.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Collins was born in Paonia Aug. 12, 1931, to Israel and Thelma (Crisler) Ankenman. She spent her childhood in Crawford and graduated from Crawford High School in 1949.
On Nov. 17, 1949, she married Oscar Collins in Delta.
Mrs. Collins helped her husband on the farm. She was active in clubs in her younger years. She enjoyed playing the piano, doing word search puzzles and watching Food Network and old westerns.
She is survived by her children, Clyde (Martha) Collins of McArthur, Calif., Frank (Rena) Collins and Kathy (Jerre) Little, all of Crawford; six grandsons; and six great-grandchildren with two on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; and her brother, Edward Ankenman.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
