Wanda Gibson died at her home in Delta Friday, April 29, 2016. She was 63.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 3, at the General Assembly and Church of the First Born in Delta. Interment followed at Pea Green Cemetery.
Wanda Roxie Byers was born to Harvey and Edna (Boyd) Byers Oct. 1, 1952, at the family home north of Montrose. She spent her childhood and attended school in Olathe.
She married Greg Gibson on Feb. 21, 1970, in Delta.
Mrs. Gibson was a member of the General Assembly and Church of the First Born in Delta. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, her flower gardens, birds and travel.
She is survived by her husband, Greg Gibson of Delta; her son, Mike (Stacy) Gibson of Delta; her daughter, Michelle (Anthony) Sweet of Palisade; her sister, Patty (Robert) Arnold of Slaughterville, Okla.; her sister-in-law, Bessie Byers of Olathe; her brother-in-law, Forest Neely of Cortez; and her grandchildren, Samantha Sweet, Vincent Sweet, Amanda Sweet, Julia Sweet, Ryan Gibson, Donny Gibson and Johnny Gibson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Edna Byers; her brother, Lester Byers; her sisters, Mary Neely, Betty Ashby and Cheryl Retherford; and her brothers-in-law, Doyle Ashby and Jody Retherford.
