The Delta County Libraries offer many educational and entertaining activities and events for you and your family to enjoy. If you want to know what else your library is offering, please contact the library or visit the Delta County Libraries website at www.deltalibraries.org.

Cedaredge

Friends of the Cedaredge Library Meeting. Glade Hadden, archaeologist with the BLM, will give a presentation, with photographs, on the Eagle Rock Shelter located north of Delta on the Gunnison River. The shelter is 12,800 years old and provides the earliest evidence of human occupation in Colorado. Regular meeting will follow the presentation. Thursday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m.

iPad Basics. Bring your own iPad or use the library's. This class will teach you the basics of the iPad. Great for all levels of knowledge. Come see if you are interested in an iPad by trying one of ours out first! Friday, Feb. 10, at 10:30 a.m.

Karakuri Class. This class is for ages 9-99. We will be making simple machines made from paper that will wow your friends and family! These paper machines move with easy to put together gears, cams, cranks and more. Fun for the whole family! Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 1 p.m.

Email Basics. Learn the basics of your email. We will go over all types of email including Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail. Learn how to attach files or find old emails. Friday, Feb. 24, at 10:30 a.m.

Teen Scene. Every Friday teens are invited to come hang out and have fun. There will always be a super cool activity! Friday, Feb. 24, at 4 p.m.

February StoryWalk®. "Tacky and the Winter Games," written by Helen Lester and illustrated by Lynn Munsinger, will be on display at the Surface Creek Trail StoryWalk® during the month of February.

February Maker Space. Come to the Cedaredge Library during library hours in February and get slimy with this hands-on activity! All supplies provided.

Crafts Group. Crafters meet each Tuesday at 10 a.m. to share ideas and show and tell. Contact the library at 399-7674 for details.

Tech Soup Saturday. Bring your devices and your questions. Our expert "techies" will do their best to answer your questions. Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Crawford

Valentine Card Making. Feb. 3-11 during library hours.

Computer Tutor. Librarians will be available to help you with questions about computers or mobile devices. Just drop in during regular library hours or call 399-7783 for a specific time.

Delta

Kids' Craft Day. Stop by the Delta Library between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, and get crafty! February's theme: Valentine's Day.

Delta Book Club. The Delta Book Club meets the third Saturday of every month. February's book: "1776" by David McCullough. Saturday, Feb. 18, at 1 p.m.

Children's Jam Band. Learn to play rhythm instruments on beat with different types of items. Tuesday, Feb. 21, and Thursday, Feb. 23, at 10:30 a.m.

Live Candy Land Game. The children's area will be a Candy Land game board with candy at appropriate places. Families will have their own color spinner and play the game as they would at home, only they're the gingerbread men. Thursday, Feb. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Archeology of the Ute Indians and Their Final Years in Western Colorado. Archaeologist Curtis Martin is back in Delta County for a presentation at the Delta Library Saturday, Feb. 25, at 1 p.m. Introduction by Roland McCook, Uncompahgre Ute and president of the Native American Cultural Programs. The event is sponsored by Delta County Libraries, NACP and The Friends of the Delta Library.

Teen Book Club at Delta High School. This Teen Book Club will meet the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 9 a.m. in the fish bowl at DHS. February book: "Miss Perigrine's Home for Peculiar Children" by Ransom Riggs. Contact the Delta Library for details at 874-9630.

Magic the Gathering. Teens can come to the library to play and trade cards for Magic the Gathering! Tournaments every first Saturday at 10 a.m.

Talk & Tangle Yarn. This is a group of knit and crochet enthusiasts who get together to talk and work on their individual projects. Anyone is welcome to join. Mondays starting at 5:30 p.m.

Hotchkiss

Hotchkiss Book Club. This book club meets the third Thursday of every month in the Addams Room of Memorial Hall and is for adults. February's book club will discuss "The Name of the Rose" by Umberto Eco. Thursday, Feb. 16, at 3 p.m.

Cooking Class. Learn new cooking techniques with professional chef Anthony Reichenbach. Thursday, Feb. 23, at 3 p.m.

Your Favorite Book Art Contest. The Hotchkiss Library will be accepting artwork from all ages depicting your favorite book. Submissions may be dropped off during the month of February and will be on display for voting until the end of March. The library has poster paper available for use. Master Builder Club. Explore your creativity as a master builder with Legos. Join us for a monthly design theme and free building time. All ages welcome; children under 7 should bring an adult. Meets the first Tuesday of every month October through April from 3:45 to 5 p.m.

Paonia

Knit Crochet Day. Enjoy the camaraderie of fellow knitters and crocheters; share projects and browse our library of craft books for use or purchase. Always tea and cookies, too! Saturday, Feb. 18, at noon.

Armchair Travel Series. Join Mike Campo at the Paonia Library for his presentation "Making Tracks in Arizona" Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m.

Valentine's Day Card Making. Come to the Paonia Library to make a personalized Valentine's Day card for a loved one. Materials and snacks provided. Friday, Feb. 10, from 4 to 5 p.m.
