Cedaredge

Cedaredge Friends Meeting. Learn about the homeless shelter in Delta and make a meaningful contribution. Donations of cleaning supplies, paper goods, powdered drink mixes, coffee, coffee creamer and individually wrapped food items are being accepted. Regular meeting to follow. Thursday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m.

The Earth Beneath Our Feet. Have you ever wondered about the geology in the vicinity of Orchard City? Join Dr. Dave Noe for a tour of the surrounding mesas, 'dobies and uplifts, and the results of many years of geologic mapping by the Colorado Geologic Survey. Thursday, Jan. 12, 5:30 p.m. at the Stolte Shed in Pioneer Town.

Computer Basics. Learn the basics of the computer in this hands-on class that is geared directly to your skill level. Friday, Jan. 27, at 10:30 a.m.

Teen Scene. Teens are invited to come hang out and have fun. Friday, Jan. 27, at 4 p.m.

January StoryWalk®. "Snowmen at Night" by Caralyn and Mark Buehner will be up through the month of January on the Surface Creek Trail.

January Maker Space. Invisible Ink. Send a secret, hidden message or make a treasure map! All supplies provided.

Crawford

Cabin Fever Book Sale. Presented by the Friends of the Crawford Library at the Crawford Town Hall Community Room. Friday, Jan. 27, from 3 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Delta

Friends of the Delta Library Meeting. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 1 p.m.

Genealogy 101. Join this informational presentation at the Delta Library and learn strategies for researching your genealogy. Presented by Mickey Watts. Thursday, Jan. 19, at 5 p.m.

Teen Book Club at Delta High School. This club will meet the second Thursday of each month in the fishbowl during ACCESS. January book: "The Weight of Silence" by Heather Gudenkauf. Contact the Delta Library for details at 874-9630.

Birthday for Pooh. Celebrating Winnie the Pooh's birthday. Crafts, movies, cake and punch. Saturday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m.

Seed Packaging Party. Volunteers needed Thursday, Jan. 26, at 4 p.m.

Kids' Craft Day. Stop by the Delta Library between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. every third Saturday and get crafty. January's theme: Winter.

Hotchkiss

Hotchkiss Book Club. This book club will meet the third Thursday of every month in the Addams Room of Memorial Hall and is for adults. January's book club will discuss "All the Wild That Remains" by David Gessner. Thursday, Jan. 19, at 3 p.m.

Seed Sorting Party. Calling all volunteers, seed library supporters and seed sorting enthusiasts! Join us at the Hotchkiss Library for an evening of seed organizing, good company and tasty treats. Come by anytime Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 4 to 6 p.m.

January Maker Space. Come and enjoy making your own unique snowflakes throughout the month of January.

Armchair Travel Series. This annual series kicks off with Jim and Elaine Brett regaling us with their experiences at Okinawa's Uchinanchu Festival, featuring stunning photography and engaging stories. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 6 p.m.

Paonia Reads is brought to you by the Paonia Literary Committee in collaboration with Delta County Libraries, Blue Sage Center for the Arts and The Paradise Theater an effort to bring the community together to read the book "The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven" by Sherman Alexie and then view the accompanying film at The Paradise Theater on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. Call the Paonia Library for details at 399-7881.
